ECW on Sci-Fi
Airdate July 29, 2008

Before I start, let me just express my joy at Mike Adamle’s appointment as the new Raw General Manager.

The show opens up with a video re-cap of last weeks fatal 4 way which Matt Hardy won, thus making him the number one contender.

Tazz welcomes us to the show introduces us to our new play by play man – Todd Grisham!

Matt Hardy is out and tells us how happy he was to be drafted to ECW and that Summerslam will be the biggest opportunity in his career. Henry and Atlas come out and tell Hardy that Henry has beaten the likes of Big Show and Kane since he got drafted, but who has Hardy beaten? They say they have another demonstration; Henry has a 40 inch steel rod and bends it on itself. Hardy says he isn’t a rod or pan, and he’ll fight back at Summerslam and win the belt.

They plug Hornswoggle & Finlay vs. Morrison & Miz; Ricky Ortiz is backstage walking like a moron.

Chavo Guerrero is tonight’s unlucky guy to face Ricky Ortiz. Most of the match is Chavo controlling Ortiz, Ortiz finally fires back and get some offense in. Chavo did a drop toe hold on Ortiz and rolled up him. Chavo put his feet on the ropes and Bam Neely came round to hold them. The ref saw this and DQ’d Chavo. Chavo and Bam jump Ortiz post match, Evan Bounre comes out of nowhere and dropkicks Chavo and Bam and then gets out of dodge.

Colin walks into Henry & Atlas’ corner room and asks why they left him last week and what does he have to do to prove himself. Tony Atlas tells him to soften up Matt Hardy tonight, Colin just stands there as they walk off.

Our next match is Morrison and Miz vs. Finlay and Hornswoggle. Finlay controls the match by beating on Miz, it breaks down to where Hornswoggle is used a battering ramp as we go to a break.

We return with Finlay working over Morrison. After Miz pulled him off pinning Morrison, Finlay got on the apron but Morrison pushed him into the post. The former tag champs work over his injured arm until Morrison missed a dropkick. Finlay gets to his corner and goes up top, but his son Hornswoggle tags himself in and attempts a spinning head scissors which Morrison turns into a huge face buster. Morrison pins the little mutant for the win.

After the match Finlay is attending to his son when Mike Knox comes in and attacks him.

Lena Yada interviews Mike Knox who tells her he attacked Finlay because he used to be a tough bastard and now he is a softy who dances in the ring with his son.

Chris Harris comes up to Hardy and makes a joke about Colin Delaney; Harris says he has his back tonight. Hardy thanks him and asks his name “It’s Braden Walker” he replies, good job they did tell us again, I had forgotten already.

Matt Hardy vs. Colin Delaney was a glorified squash, Hardy won after the elbow to the back of the head, which was followed by a side effect and twist of fate. Post-match Mark Henry came down and press slammed Colin out of the ring. He and Matt had a stare down until Henry left as ECW went off the air.
