- WWE’s former Playboy model, Ashley Massaro, was officially released by WWE late on Wednesday.

The release comes after the former Diva Search winner claimed on her MySpace page last week that she had requested her release due to her 7-year-old daughter being ill.

Massaro had not been seen on WWE television since Rolling Stong magazine claimed she had previously worked as a $25,000-a-night escort for a company in Las Vegas prior to entering the wrestling industry.

While Massaro denied the allegation and threatened to sue, Rolling Stone failed to retract their original article, which has led to some in WWE believing that Massaro’s real reasons for wanting to leave the company are linked to the revelation.

- This past Tuesday edition of ECW on Sci-Fi did a 1.4 cable rating, staying strong (for ECW in recent months anyway) for the second week in a row.
