ECW on Sci-Fi report
Airdate August 5, 2008

The Todd welcomes us to the show and tells us that filling in for The Tazz this evening is our teacher – Matt Striker!

Our opening contest was between Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely vs. Evan Bourne & Ricky Ortiz.

Bam and Ortiz start it off until Ortiz tags out to Bourne, Chavo is in now and he and Bourne do some nice lucha until Ortiz is tagged back in. Bam and Chavo gain the upper hand on Ortiz and work over him in their corner. Eventually, he gets the hot tag to Bourne who runs wild on Bam Neely with various spin kicks. Bourne goes up top and hits a cool looking knee smash on Bam Neely.

Ortiz and Chavo go over the top rope as Evan Bourne ducks a clothesline from Bam Neely and rolls up the big man for the victory for his team. Evan Bourne rules.

Mike Knox is in the ring, he says he isn’t here to explain why he attacked Finlay, he is here however to show us why. A video of the Summerslam commercial played which featured Finlay and Hornswoggle dancing merrily.

Knox tells us Finlay is just a joke now, this bought out Finlay who looked extremely cool, borderline Batista cool in his jacket and jeans combo. Finlay tells Knox he likes to have fun with his son, and if Knox wants to fight him, well, he can have the first shot. After a brief face-off with Finlay turning his back, Knox walked off which usually means in the world of wrestling that Knox and Finlay will have a match next week.

The next match was Armando Estrada’s last chance at getting an ECW contract, his opponent was – Tommy Dreamer! Dreamer was controlling the whole of the match till he set Armando up for the tree of woe. As he was ready to deliver the dropkick, Colin Delaney ran down and grabbed a chair. Dreamer saw this and went out outside for the turncoat. Tommy grabbed the chair from Colin, which made Delaney – in one jump – fly over the announce table and hide under it. That was so awesome.

Dreamer returned to the ring where he had Estrada set up for the DDT, Colin again interjected himself into the match by jumping up on the apron. Tommy saw Colin and rammed him into the post. Estrada took advantage of the distraction and clubbed Dreamer in the back and rolled him up for the win and an ECW contract.

Backstage Colin congratulated Estrada to which Estrada asked Colin “Why did you help me?” As Colin was answering Theodorus Long walked in and told Colin that next week it’d be Colin Delaney vs. Tommy Dreamer – EXTREME RULES!

Braden Walker was walking backstage; this goon was in a match next. Walker was in a squash match vs. resident ECW jobber James Curtis. Walker hit the perfect-plex for the victory. Curt Hennig he is not.

It was now time for the first ever LIVE Dirt Sheet. Morrison opened with the line “Hi, I’m John Morrison, and People magazine offered me 15 million for pictures of me as a baby…I turned them down. John Morrison isn’t for sale.”

They used the shitty moving mouth on the tron while the picture never moves type deal. They mocked Henry and Atlas until Henry came out. Miz and Morrison quickly backtracked and began to put over Henry. They then mocked Matt Hardy in the same way they mocked Henry.

Hardy came out and had words with the former WWE Tag Team Champions. Miz went for Hardy but he blocked it and nailed Miz, Morrison tried to attack Hardy but accidently hit the ECW Champion Mark Henry. Henry beat on him and sent him packing. Hardy and Henry faced off as ECW went off the air.

I predict next week’s main event will be – Miz and Morrison vs. Matt Hardy and Mark Henry, hopefully we’ll also get Knox vs. Finlay just beating the crap out of each other. Matt Striker is a great colour commentator, he added a real insight and knowledge to almost everything unlike The “Wow, hey, ah, ha, oh!” Tazz.

Striker to replace Tazz please, Tazz can just sod off from TV all together for all I care.
