Lesnar injury reports inaccurate – Lesnar vs. Couture still on for UFC 91
Reports suggesting Brock Lesnar is injured and would be forced out of his November 15 clash with Randy Couture at UFC 91 are inaccurate.
Some websites reported that Lesnar picked up a hamstring injury in training and would be forced out of the Las Vegas match.
Sports Illustrated on Saturday also reported that the inaccurate reports came about after someone imitating the voice of UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta called Randy Couture and spoke to his wife, Kim, telling her Lesnar was injured. But that was quickly discovered to be a hoax call.
Lesnar’s camp have been swamped by calls since the story broke and were forced to inform the UFC that Lesnar is 100% fit and that the reports were false.
On the subject of Lesnar, his UFC debut against Frank Mir is one of the fights on the September 27/28 edition of the syndicated TV program “UFC Wired”.
