ECW on Sci-Fi report (airdate October 7)

Sunday October 12, 2008 BY Steve McLaren

Todd Grisham and Matt Striker welcome us to the show and announce tonight’s main event - A 8 man tag between CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Ricky Ortiz and Evan Bourne vs. Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, The Miz and John Morrison.

But first out tonight was Finlay, who was to be teaming with Tommy Dreamer against the all American American Jack Swagger and my favourite ECW wrestler, Mike Knox!

Knox and Finlay started out; the faces had the advantage over big Mike Knox till Dreamer got booted in the face by Knox after diving onto Swagger on the outside. We come back from the break with Dreamer being worked over by the heel team of Knox and Swagger.

Dreamer gets free and makes the tag to Finlay. Finlay runs wild on Knox and hits all of his trademark moves, the ref is distracted, which allows Hornswoggle to come in and hit the tadpole splash on Knox. The ref then sees Hornswoggle and ushers him out of the ring, while the ref has his back turned, Finlay nails Knox with his stick and the victory.

Tiffany was backstage in her Halloween costume (they’re doing some sort of Halloween countdown; it must lead the Monster Mash 2). Teddy Long came into the room wearing his costume. After they briefly talked, Jaime Noble came in with is trick or treat bag. He explained that he was in costume, he was dressed as the world’s greatest wrestler, to which Tiffany went “You’re Shawn Michaels!”. Noble blew that off and said Noble was better than old HBK.

Noble flirts with Tiffany when Mark Henry comes in and demands Matt Hardy. Long said you had your chance, Henry threw Noble’s trick or treat bag which pissed the redneck off. Noble tells Henry that nobody disrespects Noble, especially in front of his new woman! Henry says he’ll fight Noble tonight, Noble says make the match, and it was next. Noble is 100% awesome.

A Boogeyman ad played, he is coming back. Hell yeah!

They also showed us who we (not the UK people) could vote for to face the great Santino Marella at Cyber Sunday. Vote Honky.

Henry and Noble had their match, and as one would expect, Noble was beaten on and then killed with a world’s strongest slam. Post-match, Henry gave Noble another slam which bought out Matt Hardy to make the save. After cornering Henry, Hardy gave Tony Atlas a twist of fate, but walked right into a world’s strongest slam and then received a big splash.

After the raw recap, they showed another ad for Cyber Sunday, this time promoting the world title match between Chris Jericho and Batista.

It was Main Event time between CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Ricky Ortiz and Evan Bourne vs. Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes, The Miz and John Morrison.

Long lost twin brothers, Evan Bourne and Cody Rhodes, started out. The faces had the advantage and it eventually broke down to where all the faces sent the heels packing as we go to the break.

As per usual, the heels now had the advantage. During the break, Manu interjected himself and threw Evan Bourne into the guard rail. Bourne was controlled for a long period in the match before he made the tag to CM Punk.

Punk came in and ran wild on John Morrison. It broke down again, Ortiz dived onto the heels on the outside, and then Kofi joined in and dived on the heels too. Punk set Morrison up for the GTS, but Manu distracted him. As the ref dealt with Manu, Ted DiBiase hung Punk up on the top rope, Punk stumbled back into Morrison who then hit the moonlight drive for the victory for his team. ECW went off the air with all the heels standing victorious on the walk way.
