ECW on Sci-Fi TV report (aka VOTE EVAN! – airdate October 21)

Wednesday October 22, 2008 BY Steve McLaren

Matt Hardy is out first to talk about his three possible opponents for Cyber Sunday. He said no one would vote for Henry because everyone hates his guts, so he would vote for him. As he went to text for Henry, Finlay came out and said if he gets voted in this Sunday, he’ll win the belt.

At this time, Evan Bourne made his way out, but was cut off by Finlay who made fun of his height and called him “Bourneswoggle”. Evan said joke all you want, but he wants votes instead of jokes. Henry then came out and babbled on about how he beat everyone up over the past few weeks. Hardy then tells everyone; whoever wins the vote won’t win his belt.

Jack Swagger – now with new music – made his way out to kill a jobber. After he finished destroying the jobber, Todd Grisham came into the ring and asked Swagger about his eventual meeting with Tommy Dreamer. Swagger replied “Tommy who?”.

Lena was joined by John Morrison and The Miz. They both mocked that Cryme Tyme tried to vote for their match at Cyber Sunday, but the people whose phone they stole stopped their service. John Morrison said not to worry, because his abs alone would get them voted in. Miz said he is going to show you why you should vote for them tonight once he beats Shad.

Shad and Miz had their match. After briefly running wild on Miz, Shad was dumped outside after Miz pulled down the top rope. Miz beat on Shad on the outside, but returned him to the ring and worked over him. Somehow, Matt Striker managed to find a way to namedrop, Kerry Von Erich. Shad eventually mans up and powers Miz around the ring.

John Morrison, sensing his partner is in trouble, distracted the ref once Shad went for the pin. Miz then got up and ran the ropes but was tripped by JTG. Shad got a close two count. Morrison then interjected himself again once he thought the ref wasn’t looking. Morrison kicked Shad in the back but the ref did see it and called for the DQ. All 4 squared off as Striker plugged the voting for their match.

The same John Cena video from Raw aired. Striker and Grisham plugged the matches and the voting options for Cyber Sunday.

That bumbling buffoon, Ricky Ortiz, was hitting on Tiffany. Hornswoggle came by trick or treating. Tiffany called for Teddy Long, who came out of his office dressed as SHAFT! As he came out of his office, the Shaft music began to play. Teddy gave Hornswoggle some candy and he went on his merry way. Absurd greatness right here.

It was Main Event time now. All 3 made their way to the ring and began the match. Finlay and Bourne both teamed up to try and take out Henry, but Henry was having none of it and beat on both of them instead.

Henry was dumped to the outside once Bourne pulled the top rope down, but Bourne didn’t get the advantage as Finlay stiffed the hell out of him. Bourne did get some offense in and gave Finlay a hurricanrana, Finlay went flying into Henry’s head. Henry pulled Bourne out of the ring and beat on Finlay.

Bourne did return quickly, but was slingshoted into Henry by Finlay; Henry flung him off onto Finlay. Cool spot. Henry was dominating again before he was double teamed out of the ring. Finlay tried to finish Bourne off before Henry could make his return to the ring, but couldn’t quite get it done. Henry came back in and beat on everyone again.

Throughout the latter part of the match, Finlay was holding his peck, whether he was selling or not, he did look in a huge amount of pain.

Tony Atlas picked up the midget and threw him in the ring; as Henry went to slam him, Finlay chop blocked Henry and then smashed him in the head with his stick. As Finlay turned around, he was met with Evan Bourne’s flying knees. With everyone down, Bourne quickly went up top and hit AIR BOURNE on Henry for the surprise win.

Meh show, but the outcome of the main event showed that Bourne is likely WWE’s choice as to who they want voted in at Cyber Sunday. Hell, if you have the chance, VOTE EVAN. As always, please send any comments or questions to steve@ifight365.com.
