In a surprising move, WWE this afternoon confirmed the release of Lance Cade from the company.

WWE gave Cade the standard WWE.com farewell, wishing him the best in his future.

Cade, who had been involved in the Chris Jericho-Shawn Michaels storyline over the summer, initially signed with WWE back in 2001 and was assigned to the Heartland Wrestling Association developmental territory.

Trained by Michaels, WWE finally brought Cade up to the main roster in 2003 under the name Garrison Cade. He returned to WWE’s OVW developemental camp in 2005 before returning later that year on Raw as part of a tag team along with Trevor Murdoch.
