Quick spoilers from last night’s tapings here in Orlando, which are brief as I’m having some internet issues. Tonight’s tapings should be in more detail on Wednesday for iFight365.com.
A quick mention of the new stage and set, which looks way less “bush league” and should come off real well on TV, especially in HD. The video screens look very impressive and there’s more seating in there. It was a good crowd last night for most of the show as well.
Quick results:
- ODB and Christy Hemme beat The Beautiful People.
- Eric Young beat James Storm after Robert Roode accidentally spat beer in Storm’s face. They beat up Young afterwards until the Motor City Machine Guns made the save.
- MCMG beat Hiroshi Tanahashi and Volador Jr. Sheik Abdul Bashir was commentary for this. He was hit with a GORE by Rhino afterwards for abusing Tanahashi and Volador.
- AJ Styles and Samoa Joe beat Kevin Nash and TNA World Champion Sting.
- Mick Foley cut a promo and announced some matches for Turning Point, those being Sting vs. AJ Styles for the TNA World Title, Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash and Booker T vs. Christian Cage for the newly created Legends title.
Foley then called out Sting and said he was disappointed in him for joining the Main Event Mafia. It came across as that was the start to a future Foley vs. Sting match.
- Abyss beat Kurt Angle via DQ.
The place turned into WCW 2000 afterwards with a mass brawl. Matt Morgan came out after Angle had used a chair, as did, Nash, Booker, AJ Styles, Eric Young and guys like Petey Williams and Consequences Creed were all involved. I don’t know how it will come off on TV but to me it just looked like WCW when they diluted the nWo and it lost its effectiveness.
The faces were on top until Scott Steiner came in and took out everybody (including little Petey) with a lead pipe. Steiner is now part of the Main Event Mafia.
