Seven including Lesnar and Couture hit with medical suspensions
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has issued medical suspensions to a total of seven fighters who competed at UFC 91 last Saturday, according to reports.
The seven include Brock Lesnar and Randy Couture, with all serving medical suspensions.
Suspensions were also issued to Josh Hendricks, Tamdan McCrory, Aaron Riley, Jorge Gurgel and Rafael dos Anjos.
Hendricks has been suspended until December 16 with no contact until December 7 for precautionary reasons. The same suspension applies to Aaron Riley, who defeated Jorge Gurgel via unanimous decision in the UFC 91 Fight of the Night.
Gurgel is to undergo an MRI on his left shoulder and an X-ray on his right ankle to rule out fractures. If fractures are detected, Gurgel is suspended until May 15 unless cleared early by an orthopedic doctor.
Tamdan McCrory, has been suspended until May 15 pending medical clearance. At time of writing, McCrory requires X-rays on his right foot and ankle to rule out factures.
Rafael dos Anjos, who lost to Jeremy Stephens via a third-round TKO, has been suspended until January 15 with no contact until December 31 for precautionary reasons.
But in a report by MMAjunkie.com late on Tuesday, NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer revealed that new UFC Heavyweight champion Lesnar is suspended until December 16 with no contact during training until December 7 for precautionary reasons.
Kizer also revealed that Couture has been suspended until January 15 with no contact until December 31.
