UFC 91: Winner takes all between Florian and Stevenson

Ahead of iFight365.com’s live UFC 91 coverage tonight, Martin Smith continues his build-up to a much anticipated PPV…

UFC 91: Winner takes all between Florian and Stevenson

Kenny Florian versus Joe Stevenson will be a fantastic fight. I’ve been told by a few insiders that this is where all the betting money is going. Stevenson is looking at 4/1 in some places. That is a ridiculous price.

Kenny Florian was believed to be the number one contender for BJ Penn’s lightweight title after he defeated Roger Huerta. He insisted that he didn’t want to sit on the sidelines for a number of months and with BJ Penn concentrating on GSP’s Welterweight title for the next few months, the fight against Joe Stevenson was agreed.

The problem is, Joe Stevenson is one hell of a good fighter. He’s 17-3 since the beginning of 2002 and has defeated some fantastic names in the sport.

It will probably go to the ground, but I expect these guys to trade aswell. It’s going to be close but I’m actually going to go with Florian by decision, only because Florian has a solid team behind him who will tactically drag him over the finish line. Other than that, this is a really close fight.
