WWE take shot at UFC’s “crap shoot” after Lesnar’s win

Monday November 17, 2008 BY Phil Lowe

WWE last night paid tribute to Brock Lesnar after his UFC 91 win over Randy Couture, putting him over as the first man to win both the WWE and UFC Heavyweight Championships. They described the result as being a “stunning upset” despite Lesnar being the bookies favourite heading into Saturday night’s fight.

But in an article on WWE.com, they went on to take a shot at the UFC, their main pay-per-view rivals.

“Critics have noted that many of the fights on the UFC pay-per-view ended in the first round, leaving UFC producers scrambling to fill the three-hour event with content,” the article said, seemingly written after somebody had eaten a lot of lemons. “The dearth of hearty competition left many viewers to watch less prestigious under-card fights and only served to bolster claims that UFC pay-per-view events can often be a “crap shoot” in regards to filling the full three hours.”

Quite an unbelievable comment to make.
