Fresh off his victory over former UFC Heavyweight champion Mark Coleman, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua has already stepped up his training for his third fight in the UFC against former champion Chuck Liddell.

The fight, which will take place at UFC 97 in April, will be the main event as the UFC take their product to Canada for a second time.

UFC President Dana White announced the fight during his UFC 93 post-event press conference.

The two fighters were scheduled to meet at UFC 85 in June 2008, however a knee injury to Rua forced the fight to be scrapped.
