Thursday March 12, 2009 BY Phil Lowe

The card for UFC 100 continues to shape up, with UFC newcomer Yoshihiro Akiyama poised to make his debut in the octagon at the landmark event.

Akiyama has been in negotiations to make his UFC debut against veteran Alan Belcher for the July 11 PPV with the bout expected to be finalised shortly.

UFC 100 will feature a main event of Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir, which was originally scheduled for UFC 98 but put back following Mir’s recent knee surgery.

UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is expected to meet Thiago Alves, while “The Ultimate Fighter 9″ coaches Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson are slated to meet in a middleweight bout.

Although its a few months away, UFC 100 is already looking like being a “can’t miss” PPV.
