Batista claims he could make WWE return in a month

Monday March 2, 2009 BY Phil Lowe

Batista has hinted at returning from injury earlier than expected.

The former world heavyweight champ is currently in the Philippines to promote a Smackdown house show in the country this July.

“I’m over the hump, it’s been two months,” he told Philstar.com. “Physically, I’ll be able to do a comeback maybe in a month’s time. I’m still on Raw. There’s a draft after Wrestlemania so I don’t know.”

Batista has been out of action since undergoing hamstring surgery last December. Returning in a month would mean he would be available for WrestleMania 25 on Sunday, April 5 – something that we recently discussed in a Roundtable feature here at iFight365.com.

Despite Big Dave’s comments, personally I wouldn’t expect to see him returning for a match at Mania, although its certainly not out of the question that he could appear in some capacity – fully fit or not.

Batista had previously been pencilled in to return to the ring and WWE programming in time for August’s Summerslam PPV.
