MMA betting online – UFC 96 Hometown Boy Matt Hammil Ready Rock
If you bet on UFC, you’re probably already well informed and prepared to wager on Saturday evening’s light heavyweight main event, pitting Quinton “Rampage” Jackson against Keith ”The Dean of Mean” Jardine at Nation Wide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
With Jackson (-350) coming off a devastating knockout victory over long time nemesis and being one win away from a title shot versus Rashad ”Sugar” Evans, and Jardine (+250) having wins on his resume over former champions Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin, this main attraction has received its fair share of hype and media exposure.
It’s going to be a stellar UFC online betting war between two of the hardest hitting players in the 205-pound class, but through it all, the Jackson-Jardine feature matchup’s recognition has made for a quiet UFC 96 under card. Though, it consist of four great sports betting bouts, featuring Buckeye Nation’s own light heavyweight Matt “The Hammer” Hammil, who will take on Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz in his backyard.
At 7-2 in his young career, Hammil is improving with every fight and has a bright future. His two losses came against quality fighters – Rich Franklin beat him by TKO and Michael Bisping handed him his first loss via split decision in the UK. It was a questionable decision, and many fans feel Hammil clearly won but Bisping’s home field advantage had an impact on the judge’s scoring.
Hammil is an excellent wrestler with an evolving stand up that’s further strengthening his takedowns. When the Buckeye native steps into the Octagon the roof of Nation Wide Arena may come off as the crowd erupts, however, Hammil will only sense the home crowd’s support through sound waves.
Hammil has been deaf since birth and has a speech impediment, but against his opponents, he talks with heavy hands and raw strength. In a report on Tuesday, Hammil told a Columbus, Ohio sport’s new anchor he very much feels fan’s support through vibrations and is excited to feel the Octagon rock on Saturday night.
Hammil is the BetUS UFC odds favorite priced at -170, but Munoz (+140) will be no walk through and will give the favorite all he can handle. Munoz brings a 5-0 record to the cage constructed by solid wrestling and a strong background in Muay Thai. This will be his third fight in the states, as his first two wins in America came by way of TKO over Ricardo Barros in his last outing, and via KO against Chuck Grigsby – both ending in the first round under the WEC banner.
