WEC welterweight Villefort agrees UFC deal

Monday March 23, 2009 BY Phil Lowe

World Extreme Cagefighting welterweight Danillo Villefort has agreed terms with the UFC.

The 25-year-old, who joins an already loaded 170lb division in the UFC, has a 9-2 MMA record.

The news was confirmed on Tuesday to MMAJunkie.com by American Top Team and comes after the WEC scrapped its 170lb division.

Villefort would have needed to drop to lightweight to stay in the organisation.

His UFC debut is yet to be determined.
