Jeff Hardy-WWE contract update
Jason Powell over at ProWrestling.NET reports that Jeff Hardy is likely to sign a new deal with WWE before his contract runs out this summer and has been telling friends that he is feeling tired from his full-time schedule.
If Hardy does agree a new contract, it would obviously be a major boost to the company.
As I wrote earlier this month, Hardy is in a unique position in that he has the ball in his court and he is extremely valuable to the company right now.
The recent draft taking place has left him arguably as the top babyface on Smackdown (not including The Undertaker, who is the top draw but only working part-time) and Hardy leaving the company would leave WWE having to either draft a top name over from Raw or working its rear off to make CM Punk a true main eventer, with Vince McMahon not seeing Rey Mysterio as a top guy.
With TNA seemingly not on his radar and Hardy just wanting a break, he may be in a position where he is able to take a few months off in return for agreeing a new deal – something that very few in the company would be able to negotiate.
