PWG announce annual DDT4 Tournament
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla announced the date for this year’s Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament (DDT4). In the previous two years, the tournament ran for two nights. Apparently, it will only run for one night this year on Friday, May 22.
DDT4 is the annual tag team tournament with the PWG Tag Team Championship as the focal point. If the titles are vacant, then they are the ultimate prize for the winners. Otherwise, the belts are defended throughout the tournament. Roderick Strong has won both years with different partners, the first year with PAC over The Briscoe Brothers and the second year with Jack Evans over El Generico and Kevin Steen. Japan has been well represented with their imports generally advancing into the semi-finals, the first year with Masato Yoshino and Naruki Doi and the second year with El Blazer and KAGETORA.
Both previous years have taken place at the Burbank National Guard Armory in Burbank, California, though there is no official confirmation that this will be the location for this year’s tournament.
