WWE Raw tonight, Cena/HHH updates and more
WWE broadcast Monday Night Raw live from Bridgeport, CT tonight, with at least one Superstars match also being taped.
Although we’re not sure if he’ll appear on TV, John Cena is in Bridgeport. He’s scheduled to start shooting a new movie at some point in late May/early June so I’d expect him to still be on WWE television for a few weeks and based on last night, it certainly seems like we’re getting Cena vs. Big Show for Judgment Day in a few weeks time.
As noted earlier, Matt Hardy has broken his hand so will likely not be on TV tonight, although providing he’s fit enough to appear, there’s room for a good heel promo there with him complaining about what Jeff has done to his hand.
How long Triple H will be kept off TV remains to be seen. The announcers made a point of putting over that Randy Orton’s punt kicks had kept Batista and Vince McMahon off TV for a long time which made me think last night that HHH would be staying off TV for a few weeks at least. With the draft, the Raw roster is pretty loaded so they could easily go through to Judgment Day without him (and it will be interesting to see just how strict WWE are about the draft now that there’s no excuse for guys appearing on any or all brands). Whenever he returns, I’d expect to see HHH vs. Orton one more time – quite possibly with a Hell in a Cell match headlining a PPV over the summer.
No matches for Raw are announced at time of writing, but with just three weeks to go before Judgment Day, I’d expect a pretty packed show with some matches being put together for the PPV.
As always, we’ll have a full Raw recap online courtesy of Todd Martin after the show goes off the air and if you’re heading to the tapings, we’re looking for non-Raw results on the email address below!
