Affliction have confirmed that Fedor Emelianenko will take on Josh Barnett this August.

The heavyweight matchup will take place at Affliction – Trilogy on August 1 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.

32-year-old Emelianenko, unbeaten in his 27 fights, made a massive impression for Affliction back in January at ‘Day of Reckoning’ when he knocked out Andrei Arlovski with one punch, winning after 3 minutes 14 seconds in the first round of their bout.

Barnett will head into the fight unbeaten in his last four outings, winning last time out on the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card when he beat Gilbert Yvel via submission.
