WWE are to release ‘The Rise and Fall of WCW’ as a three-disc DVD set later this year.

The DVD is set to be released in North America this August and while we don’t have an exact date on a UK and European release, we believe it will be brought out at around the same time and as always will be released first via Silver Vision.

Former WCW head Eric Bischoff this week revealed on his Twitter page that he had turned down a request to be interviewed for the disc.

Bischoff also noted that Ted Turner and former WCW executive Bill Shaw had rejected WWE’s approach.

WWE released ‘The Rise and Fall of ECW’ in 2004 which led to the company bringing back ECW for a one-off PPV which of course later became ECW the company’s third brand.
