WBBJ-TV out of West Tennessee reports that Brian Christopher Lawler, son of WWE Hall of Famer and commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler, was arrested at 3am Friday morning on charges of public intoxication.
The former WWE wrestler was arrested at a convenience store at the Highway 45 Bypass and Old Hickory Dr. According to a store clerk, he called police after witnessing Lawler fall over a cooler outside the store before coming inside.
“Mr. Lawler was very unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech and once placed in custody became very belligerent,” stated a police report of his arrest.
The arresting officer added that Lawler cursed at him and threatened to rip his head off as the arrest was being made. Lawler has since been placed in the Madison County Jail and will appear in Jackson County Court on Monday.
Lawler has been a resident of Lakeview, Tennessee for sometime and this is his second arrest this year in the Hub City, the first back in February for disorderly conduct.
