WWE and Big Show hit with multi-million dollar lawsuit

Tuesday June 16, 2009 BY Phil Lowe

WWE and The Big Show have been hit with a lawsuit by SoBe Entertainment, who are looking for $2million as a result of his return to the company in Spring 2008.

SoBe claim they gave Show a $1m advance to purchase a house as well as $84,000 a month following his departure from the WWE in late 2006.

In 2007, SoBe said Big Show (Paul Wight) agreed a deal with them to train as a professional boxer.

But in a lawsuit filed on Monday, it was claimed Wight refused to perform and also failed to reveal that he owed the IRS $450,000.

Show returned to the WWE in February 2008 with his comeback match taking place at WrestleMania XXIV against boxer Floyd Mayweather.

SoBe believe Big Show and the WWE worked together, claiming WWE inteferered in the deal to re-sign him.

SoBe also claimed they sent WWE a letter in March 2008 advising that as a result of WWE’s alleged interference in Show’s contract with SoBe that the WrestleMania match be cancelled.

Obviously that never happened.

SoBe noted in the lawsuit that WrestleMania XXIV grossed $31m and that the show made a profit at their expense.

SoBe is seeking $2m which was invested in Wight, as well as damages from the WWE.
