DGUSA – First match of Freedom Gate tournament announced

Dragon Gate USA has announced the first match in the Freedom Gate tournament, which will take place at The Arena in South Philadelphia on November 28.

The match with be a three-way one-fall bout that will see CIMA vs. Mike Quackenbush vs. Super Crazy.  The match is also being dubbed as “Salute to Skayde” as all three men have history with Jorge Rivera.  Rivera was one of the wrestlers Ultimo Dragon enlisted when he trained his first term class that included CIMA.  Rivera also helped in training the majority of the CHIKARA Pro Wrestling roster including Quackenbush.  And Super Crazy lost a mask match to Rivera, who was wrestling as El Seminarista, when he was 14 and had been feuding with him in AAA afterward.

The winner of the match will advance to the four-way elimination main event match to crown the first Open The Freedom Gate Champion.  It is unknown if Rivera will be in attendance for the show.

BxB Hulk, YAMATO, Davey Richards, Brian Kendrick, and The Young Bucks of Matt and Nick Jackson are scheduled to be in the tournament along with four other wrestlers yet to be announced.  The remaining three matches will be two singles match and a six-way one-fall match.  One of the singles matches is dubbed “Redemption,” the other dubbed “Next Level.”  The six-way is being dubbed “New Generation.”  Along with the four-way elimination main event, the card will also feature KAMIKAZE of Dragon Kid and Shingo Takagi against WORLD-1 of Masato Yoshino and Naruki Doi.  Eddie Kingston will be wrestling a singles dark match on the show.
