A welterweight bout between Matt Serra and Frank Trigg is in the works for UFC 109 in February.

Official word of the bout came today from The Fight Network, and Heavy.com has confirmed with sources close to the event that both parties have verbally agreed to the fight. Bout agreements are expected to be finalized next week.

UFC 109 will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The card will likely be headlined by a light heavyweight contest between UFC Hall of Fame members Randy Couture and Mark “The Hammer” Coleman.
