Kimbo Slice (3-1-0) vs. Houston Alexander (8-4-1)
It had to happen. Kimbo Slice will make his official UFC debut on Saturday night against what would seem to be the perfect matchup for his stand and bang style; Houston Alexander. Both fighters are known for standing and banging as well as both being known for atrocious ground games and questionable chins.
Leading up to TUF 10 Finale: Kimbo Slice
By now everyone who has ever watched an MMA event should know about Kimbo Slice. The youtube phenom made the jump to MMA just a few years ago and has been on a collision course with the UFC ever since.
In his cage fighting debut, Slice was handed a couple tune-ups in the form of Bo Cantrell and an old and weathered Tank Abbott. Since those two dominating performances however, Slice has looked simply human against any real MMA fighter he has faced.
The latest display came against TUF 10 finalist Roy Nelson. Nelson easily took Kimbo to the ground, held him in a crucifix and reigned punches over his head for what seemed like an eternity. Slice’s reputation as a fighter has fallen a long way since his viral video days.

Leading up to TUF 10 Finale: Houston Alexander
Houston Alexander entered the UFC as a relative unknown. And then in a matter of seconds and following a devastating knockout of Keith Jardine, everyone knew his name. He followed that win with an equally impressive first round knockout of Alessio Sakara. Then just when it seemed like his hands were the real deal, he was taken to the ground, and just like that his weakness was exposed, and it all went bad.
Three consecutive losses showed that Alexander has little to no ground game and in a promotion as skilled as the UFC there is no room for fighters with serious weaknesses. It seems he is being given a chance at the fight of his life with an opportunity to fight the commercial beast that is Kimbo Slice.
TUF 10 Finale Betting: Slice vs. Alexander Matchup
This will be Kimbo’s one and only opportunity to prove his worth at the UFC level. However, all signs point to a monumental failure in that attempt.
Alexander is a striking monster, with the stamina to boot. Kimbo’s cardio has always been suspect along with his ground game and his chin. There seems to be a common theme here, one that dictates just how many flaws Kimbo Slice really has.
TUF 10 Finale: Outlook & Pick
Both fighters can throw but the advantage has to be given to Alexander who has fought and knocked out some serious names from within the Light Heavyweight division.
They will hit the center of the octagon and from there the onslaught will begin. In this fight more than any we’ve seen before the old “punchers chance” adage will hold true more than ever before.
So with that said, there is little to no chance of this fight continuing past the first round.
