As a follow on from my criticism of TNA’s use of aging ECW alumni Raven and Shane Douglas, I would like to make an apology.
While I criticised Raven for having been out of shape during his previous TNA run, I can see that it clearly was due to a purely medical condition, and that he does seem to have got back into tremendous shape for someone of his age.
This, combined with news that TNA appears to be purely using them as a short term nostalgia act in order to promote their next PPV, casts a fresh light on what initially seemed to be a poor business move…

I went on the internet this morning and was shocked (but not too shocked) to see that WWE has come to terms with the release of Mr. Kennedy.
Then, after thinking about it for a bit, I realised that Kennedy has had one of the most pronounced fall from graces of anyone not named Benoit in recent wrestling history.
This column, written in reaction to the release of Mr. Kennedy, looks at the main events that have contributed to him going from a sure-fire future headliner and World Champion, to a virtual non-entity and unemployment. But before we get to…

We’re onto disc 3 of the Jeff Jarrett epic King of the Mountain. As far as big DVD sets go, this has been an interesting look back through the history of TNA, through the matches and storylines of its top star and founder.
The matches showcased so far have been mostly solid to good, as one would expect with Jarrett being the focus, although the Russo booking for periods and the over use of the guitar finish have both become a little wearing at this point.
As before, I will be running a Run-in Counter for every match in order to illustrate the amount of repetitive booking on display…

TNA recently announced that they were going to release a ‘Best of Jeff Jarrett’ compilation DVD – a 4 disc set spanning 12 hours.
After the initial groans and the usual TNA moaning about Jarrett and his overpushing of himself, I actually sat back and thought about what sort of thing would go in said DVD. After all, Jarrett has certainly has, if nothing else, a long career, and there would be plenty of material around to fill up a ‘best of’ set.
Obviously WWE just won’t allow TNA access to any of the material they own (primarily Jarrett’s WWE and WCW stuff of course), here’s my ideal…

Silver Vision’s exclusive ‘Live in The…’ series of DVDs is a rather strange concept, as the releases basically feature a week’s worth of WWE television generally encompassing whichever European tour WWE has most recently been on.
Essentially then, WWE is re-releasing footage that has previously been made available on free television.
While this may sound pretty pointless for those of us who religiously record and collect each WWE TV show, for those who only casually watch and may have even attended the shows featured here, the DVD may provide a handy memento of their live wrestling experience.
