Originally, following the last couple of week’s episodes of Raw, this column was destined to be titled… “Raw is W**k”. Yep, that’s how appalled I was at the Jeremy Piven-hosted miss-fire that masqueraded as grappling action 2 weeks ago, in addition to this past Raw being a depressing retread in the build-up for Summerslam.
But I had a think about it, and it dawned on me that sometimes, it’s depressing being so negative all the time. Yep, even at ifight365.com, where we aren’t afraid to condemn a shoddy product, we want nothing if not quality grappling action on our screens. So instead of being horrible and titling a column after a forbidden joust with one’s own…

In recent months, the balance within the WWE’s output has been completely turned on its head and Smackdown has become the clear “must-see” programme. Actually, ECW has been pretty darned impressive, and it’s only Raw that has suffered.
Quite frankly, it’s been rather shite.
The origin of this decay for the flagship show was of course, the Draft. Catering to Vince’s insatiable attitude for Pecs, biceps, and all the tears that come with them, all the “real” stars went to the red brand. But amusingly, plans didn’t pan out as Vince expected. He booked his son-in-law in the…

A follow-up to “the Greatest Stars of the 80’s”, which was released absolutely ages ago, the Greatest Stars of the 90’s follows the same formula. That is, a DVD featuring a documentary that highlights some of the biggest stars of the given time period, accompanied by a bunch of matches that feature said superstars.
Essentially, this is a superficial run through, of who the WWE regard as “The Greatest Stars of the 90’s”. What that encompasses, is a brief bio on each chosen superstar, comprised of clips and interviews covering their career. If I had never seen a WWE retrospective before, I’d be blown away by this material. Unfortunately I’ve seen…

The Lo-Down: Andre Roussemoff was one of the most beloved performers in the history of the wrestling business. Under the guise of Andre The Giant, he achieved international recognition, and in his prime, was legitimately an insanely popular draw. Touring the world, and becoming, at one point, supposedly the highest paid wrestler on the planet, he became one of the most recognizable faces in the industry.
His match with Hulk Hogan, at WrestleMania III is one of the biggest, and most important Pro wrestling events in history, while he was a part of many memorable angles and TV segments. He also ventured into acting, most notably appearing..

The WWE’s annual draft. A heavily hyped 3-hour behemoth of a show. An event that rears its ugly, bulbous head once per annum, looming high overhead like a wayward zeppelin. And once it’s passed by, once the dust has settled, and the shadows have dispersed, is it safe to come out? Is it okay to emerge from your little shelter and gaze back into the grappling world?
Of course it is.
Post-draft, nothing has changed, or to express another cliché, in this column chock-full of them, the more things change, the more they stay the same…
