Welcome to the latest Roundtable discussion here at iFight365.com where this week we ask: Given the atrocious Victory Road PPV that TNA recently presented us with, what is the worst PPV of all time?
James Mustoe: To me that would have to be ECW’s December to Dismember in 2006. This was a truly atrocious card with no matches announced bar the main event prior to a week before the show. All of the undercard matches were pretty much actively bad, bar the opening match of MNM vs. Hardy’s (a RAW team vs. a Smackdown team). The main event itself, a ‘hardcore’ Elimination Chamber match, was…

Welcome to the latest Roundtable discussion here at iFight365.com where this week we ask: Over the past couple of years, “themed” PPVs from WWE and TNA have become seemingly trendy. Is the success of Lockdown, No Way Out, and the proposition of Submission and Hell in a Cell orientated shows a positive or a negative for the business?
James Mustoe: I think this proposal is a positive in the short term for business for both companies, but that the ‘theme’ PPV will inevitably lead to over exposure of the gimmicks and therefore be bad for business in the long term. If we take the Hell in a Cell gimmick as an example, this match is…

As a follow on from my criticism of TNA’s use of aging ECW alumni Raven and Shane Douglas, I would like to make an apology.
While I criticised Raven for having been out of shape during his previous TNA run, I can see that it clearly was due to a purely medical condition, and that he does seem to have got back into tremendous shape for someone of his age.
This, combined with news that TNA appears to be purely using them as a short term nostalgia act in order to promote their next PPV, casts a fresh light on what initially seemed to be a poor business move…

Welcome to the latest Roundtable discussion here at iFight365.com where this week we’re asking the question: Would TNA benefit from reducing the number of PPVs per year?
Phil Lowe: I have no doubt that dropping the number of PPVs would be a smart move by TNA. Buyrates are hardly setting the world alight and times are tough for the average wrestling fan. Given a choice between a WWE or TNA PPV (or even UFC or TNA), more often than not, TNA will lose out.
If TNA have to keep to the current format of 12 PPVs per year, I’d be tempted to adopt the old…

I went on the internet this morning and was shocked (but not too shocked) to see that WWE has come to terms with the release of Mr. Kennedy.
Then, after thinking about it for a bit, I realised that Kennedy has had one of the most pronounced fall from graces of anyone not named Benoit in recent wrestling history.
This column, written in reaction to the release of Mr. Kennedy, looks at the main events that have contributed to him going from a sure-fire future headliner and World Champion, to a virtual non-entity and unemployment. But before we get to…

Welcome to the latest Roundtable discussion here at iFight365.com where this week we’re asking the question: Which of WWE’s current crop of youngsters has the potential to be a long-term main event star?
James Mustoe: WWE has quietly been building a bit of a youth movement over the last year. Guys like Kofi Kingston, DiBiase and Rhodes, Tyson Kidd, and the wonderful Evan Bourne all stand out as having great potential in the organisation for the future. However the guy who has flat out shown the most potential as a top level break out star (and very soon too!) is the former ECW Champion Jack Swagger…

We’re onto disc 3 of the Jeff Jarrett epic King of the Mountain. As far as big DVD sets go, this has been an interesting look back through the history of TNA, through the matches and storylines of its top star and founder.
The matches showcased so far have been mostly solid to good, as one would expect with Jarrett being the focus, although the Russo booking for periods and the over use of the guitar finish have both become a little wearing at this point.
As before, I will be running a Run-in Counter for every match in order to illustrate the amount of repetitive booking on display…

Welcome to the latest Roundtable discussion here at iFight365.com where at the end of a week where WWE have finally put into practice their recent draft moves , we’re asking the question: After twelve picks on Raw and twenty-five during WWE’s supplemental draft, how do you see each brand operating with their new roster of talent for the next year?
Phil Lowe: I’m really looking forward to seeing how Smackdown fares over the summer. After this past Friday night’s show, I felt very optimistic about the future of the ‘blue brand,’ from the guys at the top of the roster right through to the announce team. For the record, I think the Todd…
