The drug testing results from the WEC 47 event held earlier this month at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH have been released by the Ohio Athletic Commission and all six of the twenty-two fighters who competed on the card that were tested have passed their tests and come back clean.

Former WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres (37-3) posted this on his Twitter site today after filling out paperwork at the doctors office prior to having his head stitched up.
Torres received the cut to his forehead on March 6th at the “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz” event against Joseph Benavidez, suffering a second straight loss, just the third in forty professional fights.

Two of the WEC’s fastest-rising Featherweight prospects appear to be on a collision course as Anthony Morrison and Mackens Semerzier are in talks to meet as part of the undercard for WEC 48, which takes place on April 24th at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA. The first DREAM event of 2010 is a week away and Fighting and Entertainment Group, parent company of the promotion, is still filling out the card as they have announced a 135-pound bout between former WEC Bantamweight Championship challenger Yoshiro Maeda and former WEC Bantamweight Champion Cole Escovedo, who will be making his DREAM debut at the event.

The Ohio Athletic Commission has released the salary information for the WEC event held this past weekend at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH that saw Dominick Cruz upset Brian Bowles to earn the WEC Bantamweight Championship.
