The Big News: Hulk Hogan is officially in TNA and his arrival was played up in every segment of the show.

As most of you probably know by now TNA have continued their September/October tradition of making major acquisitions by completing the signing of Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan is one of the most recognisable wrestlers of all time and has been a major player and draw in the wrestling industry for decades. After failing to bring Hogan in in 2003 (though we’ll never hear end of Jeff Jarrett bringing TNA to Hulk Hogan), six years later TNA have finally gotten their man.

On the face of things this is a huge signing for TNA and should help carry them to another level but there may also be a huge downside to this. Let’s start with the positives…

As a follow on from my criticism of TNA’s use of aging ECW alumni Raven and Shane Douglas, I would like to make an apology.

While I criticised Raven for having been out of shape during his previous TNA run, I can see that it clearly was due to a purely medical condition, and that he does seem to have got back into tremendous shape for someone of his age.

This, combined with news that TNA appears to be purely using them as a short term nostalgia act in order to promote their next PPV, casts a fresh light on what initially seemed to be a poor business move…
