For me, Victory Road in July was one of the low points in TNA history. With Beer Money, Daniels and AJ Styles all losing, Jenna Morasca being allowed to wrestle, not a great match on the show and no X-Division wrestler in sight, the future of TNA looked very, very bleak after this PPV.

However, in the three months between Victory Road and Bound For Glory it all seems so different. Bound For Glory could well be a new beginning in the history of TNA and a proper changing of the guard.

With that said, lets take a match by match run down of TNA’s biggest card of the year…

The Big News: Amazing Red is now the X Division champion after defeating Samoa Joe in a match that didn’t make a lick of sense.

Hard to believe, but WWE’s Hell in a Cell gimmick has been around now for 12 years.

Throughout this period, it’s seen its ups and downs, but this modern-day Cage Match has largely been an enormous success. The popularity of it in terms of contemporary gimmicks is probably only equaled by the TLC match.

It’s also succeeded the Steel Cage match as the ultimate means to ending a blood-feud (though in today’s climate, where no blood is permitted, that definition is somewhat lost), in the same manner that TLC has eclipsed the regular Ladder Match format…

Jack Foley, the father of former three-time WWE Champion and current TNA wrestler Mick Foley, has passed away after a long illness at the age of 76.

The Big News: Mick Foley won the TNA Legends Championship in a much better show than previous weeks when he pinned Kevin Nash.

The Big News: Only real note was Tara winning the TNA Knockouts title, which got a big pop. Mick Foley tried to do a heavy juice angle like it was 1985 UWF in Monroe, Louisiana, in a show-ending angle that featured barbed wire and a barbed-wire baseball bat.
