Mirko “Cro Cop” Says Training in Amsterdam “Struggle of Life or Death”

It’s likely safe to say that if Mirko “Cro Cop” loses to Ben Rothwell at the upcoming February 20th, UFC 110 card in Sydney, Australia, the heavyweight’s days as a UFC fighter will be over faster than you can say ‘g’day mate’. As we’ve ranted on about here endlessly in the past, everyone’s still waiting for Cro Cop  to kick somebody’s head six ways from Sunday in the Octagon.
After being stopped by rising contender Junior dos Santos in September Cro Cop apparently decided to make some changes to his training …

MMA – DMX pulls out of event to be replaced by…Coolio?

Not really sure if you can file this under “MMA News” but the Alabama Pride fight scheduled for December has made a slight adjustment. The card is headlined by a showdown between two, fat, white guys named Butterbean and Tank Abbott, but the fight everyone is talking about was the throwdown between DMX and Eric Martinez. It now appears WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko will be featured on the re-scheduled “Affliction: Day of Reckoning.”

The re-scheduled event is rumoured to be held at the site of the organization’s debut – the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. That event drew nearly 15,000 spectators for a live gate of $2.1million.

According to company officials, “Affliction: Banned” also did more than 100,000 pay-per-view buys.

However, as reported on Wednesday, poor ticket sales are being blamed for the re-schedule and therefore, the organisers have decided to …

Affliction’s second pay-per-view show, scheduled for October 11 and to be headlined by Andrei Arlovski vs. Josh Barnett for a title shot at Fedor Emelianenko, has been cancelled.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon, although tickets for the show, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, were still being sold as of lunchtime local time.

But fighters on the card were being informed today that the show had been postponed to a later date, as were PPV companies.

Kizer told Sherdog.com that the …
